“Dry Hire” or “Dry PA system hire” refers to renting a small Public Address (PA) system (microphones, mixer, amplifier, and speakers) and/or lighting equipment (uplights, par cans, light bars) without an operator (Sound Engineer), where the hirer is responsible for all setup and operation of the sound equipment and/or lighting equipment themselves. It’s very common for weddings to “dry hire”, possibly having the equipment delivered and setup but without a sound engineer being present during the events.

We strive to accommodate individual needs and support you in achieving your ambitions. Below are just 3 examples of commonly required dry hire PA system packages we can offer. They can be mixed and matched around. We have additional sound and lighting equipment available that is not shown here. System 1 above is as simple as it gets, a small PA system perfect for speeches, consisting of a handheld wireless microphone and a 450-watt active stand-mounted speaker. It’s suitable to be clearly heard in a room of around 100 people, and additional speakers can be linked if necessary to spread the word further. It’s not suitable for any other purpose.

System 2 is for a small band or an acoustic music event. 2x Shure SM58 vocal microphones for the singers and a multichannel mixing console for plugging in whatever you wish (additional vocals, guitars, a phone with your music playlist, etc). With two 450-watt active speakers, it provides ample volume for most small to medium-sized private functions. Many pub bands will put their entire band through a similar PA system to play at a pub or small club.

System 3 is only an option for dry hire if it is to be delivered, set up and collected by us. Consisting of 2x 500-watt JBL PRX tops and 2x 500-watt JBL subs, one multichannel mixing desk and 2x stand-mounted SM58 vocal microphones. This PA system has numerous uses, including for DJs, wedding bands, and other live music entertainment purposes.
